January 2008: Happy New Year!
Greetings everyone, and welcome to another new and exciting year! I hope that you all had a nice Christmas and that 2008 gets off to a great start for you. Be sure to check back often this year, and I will try to be better about updating the site more frequently. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to have some new artwork and photography up soon! Happy New Year!
P.S. Here's a recent picture of the family and me. :)
December 2007: Big Move!
October 2007: Art Workshop!
I lead another art workshop at Infusion Campus (Springfield, Ohio) in October. The theme for the quarter was "rainforests," and I lead the kids in a project that incorporated cubism and the relationship between color and emotion. Each participant chose one color that he thought best represented the emotion of his picture. We began the session with a reading of the Dr. Seuss classic My Many Colored Days, which was well-recieved. Everyone, myself included, seemed to have a good time, and the kids created some nice artwork. :)

June 2007: Solo Show!
My June solo art show at Un Mundo Cafe (801 W. Main Street, Springfield, OH) is now officially hung and will be up throughout the month. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by to take a look! The cafe is open everyday except Sunday (7Am-9PM Monday-Thursday, 7AM-11PM Friday-Saturday), so you should have plenty of chances to stop in. Check it out, and let me know what you think! And, of course, if you have any questions, just let me know.
P.S. You can also visit Un Mundo Cafe's website at www.unmundocafe.com.

May 2007: Infusion Campus "ME-tamorphosis" Workshop
On Friday, May 25, I led a workshop at the Infusion Campus in Springfield, Ohio (http://www.artsinterface.org/infusioncampus.html). About 16 youth from 1st-7th grade attended to participate in a "ME-tamorphosis" project. The kids each created a piece of art in which they began with a self-portrait that they then transformed into something new, like an animal, plant, or object. Above is the example that I showed the kids to give them the general idea (it's a piece I created back in high school). They also used a hand-out (taken from http://www.sanford-artedventures.com/create/tech_proportion.html) to help them learn about the proportions of the face. In the end, each participant created a unique piece, and the kids seemed to have a good time - and so did I.
